An alternate ending to Steins;Gate that leads with the eccentric mad scientist Okabe, struggling to recover from a failed attempt at rescuing Kurisu. He decides to give up and abandons his lively scientist alter ego, in pursuit to forget the past.

Kurisu Makise (牧瀬 紅莉栖 Makise Kurisu) is the daughter of Shouichi Makise, a genius girl who graduated from university at the age of seventeen, and a member of the neuroscience laboratory of Viktor Chondria University and the Future Gadget Lab. Kurisu is one of the main characters of Steins;Gate. A true sequel, Steins;Gate 0, was announced in March 2015. The game was released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. It was originally scheduled to be released in Japan on November 19, 2015 but the release date was moved to December 10, 2015.
When all seems to be normal, he is seemingly pulled back into the past by meeting an acquaintance of Kurisu, who tells him that they have begun testing a device that stores the memory of a human and creates a simulation of them with their characteristics and personalities. Okabe begins testing and finds out that the simulation of Kurisu has brought back anguish and some new unexpected tragedies.
